Jon was raised in a Christian home with six siblings, where faith, family and a love for country were important. From a young age, he learned the value of discipline by working on the family farm. The work was often long and demanding, with early mornings and full days.

With his father’s guidance, raising tobacco, row crops, a small herd of cattle, and pigs, he learned the importance of the American farmer and the impact on our country and our economy.

Hard work and discipline were not the only lessons Jon learned growing up - he was also taught the importance of serving others and being part of something bigger than himself. Coming from a family where helping neighbors and farmers was a standard part of everyday life, joining the Marines after graduating from Smith County High School felt like a natural step.

"I come from a long line of those who served our country, from the American Revolution to more recent generations. My grandfather served in World War II, and my uncle served in Vietnam. Growing up with that legacy, I felt a strong desire to serve as well. I wanted a challenge, the Marine Corps was the perfect fit"

Shortly after marrying his High School sweetheart, Renee, Jon enlisted in January 1990. They were blessed with two children, Kristian and Jonathan.

A proud Christian conservative, Jon built his life on faith, family, and service—first on a small farm in Riddleton, Tennessee, and then on the front lines defending America.

Jon trained recruits at Parris Island, served in Desert Storm, and led Marines twice in Iraq and then in Al Anbar Province, Afghanistan. Jon earned the Bronze Star and multiple commendations for his leadership and courage under fire. Jon has always been a lifelong learner. While on active duty, Jon took weekend and evening college courses and earned an Associate's, a Bachelor's, and two Master's degrees. After retiring from the Marine Corps, Jon continued his pursuit of excellence and is in the final steps of earning a PhD in Organizational Leadership.

Jon is running for Congress to bring proven, battlefield-tested leadership to Washington. He is committed to standing with President Trump to secure the border, restore government integrity, and be a voice for farmers, veterans, and small business owners. Above all, Jon is focused on defending the principles that make America strong.

A husband, father, and grandfather, Jon Henry is ready to fight for the hard-working men and women of the sixth district of Tennessee—because he’s one of them. Jon brings a grounded, common-sense perspective shaped by small-town life and real-world experience.
