AGRICULTURE

My focus will be to prioritize legislation that protects TN Farmland from corporate overreach and foreign interests.  We must protect Tennessee's farmland, roll back harmful regulations on our farmers, preserve access to natural food, and assure the safety in our food processing. It is vital to farmers that their markets be secure from foreign influence and unfair consolidation.

We are losing 9 acres an hour of TN farmland, and experiencing the lowest nationwide cow herd in 75 years.

My dedicated focus:

1. Mandatory "Product of the USA" food labeling

2. FSIS ( Food Safety Inspection Service) with any imported food product under it's jurisdiction have an increased oversight with requency and specificity guidelines

3. Tariff implementation with President Donald Trump to establish market parity with US products

4. Protect our TN Farmland

5. Support Local, Sustainable Agriculture

6. Continue our launch of Public Awareness

LOST JOBS - PUTTING AMERICAN WORKERS FIRST

Tennessee lost 148,337 Manufacturing Jobs during NAFTA ( North American Free Trade Agreement)

*US Bureau of Labor Statistics*  In Tennessee, 205,416 workers lost their jobs during NAFTA.  The US Manufacturing sector lost 544,750 jobs between 1993 - 2000. TN experienced 3,658 lost jobs in the motor vehicles and equipment sector,  TN lost 4,082 jobs in the textiles and apparel industry.  Additional loss of jobs occurred in TN for the lumber and wood product sector. * Economic Policy Institute*

The trade agreement resulted in devastating manufacturing job losses and wage suppression.  President Trump has announced that we lost 90,000 manufacturing facilities since NAFTA, nationwide.  Rural communities have been greatly effected. 

My center of attention aligns with President Trump to level the playing field for our workers in TN. My support and efforts will be geared for the fair and reciprocal trade, and needed tariffs to protect and re-establish our manufacturing in TN.

EMS- FIRST RESPONDER CRISIS

I am ready to take action. The American Ambulance Association has backed up the many stories that we have heard from EMS - First Responders in TN and citizens of the 6th District.   The EMS Division is experiencing an unstainable reimbursement situation for life-saving medical emergencies.  Adding to that, the rising costs of health care has created on substantial strain on EMS providers.  Unacceptable to the point of a crisis in our health safety. 

When it takes an ambulance 2 hours to respond to a 911 call,  we have a safety crisis. When we have ambulances that have 300,000-400,000 miles on them, and in repetitive repairs, we can do better for TN.

I am ready to take our crisis to President Trump, and tackle the EMS- First responder crisis in TN. My goal is to improve Workforce Shortage for training and higher wages,  Support Medicare Ambulance add ons,  Ensure Safety Equipment- Vehicles are operational, and steps towards ensuring workforce and equipment grants are open to all providers in EMS Grants.

ECONOMY

Citizens in District 6 should never have to choose groceries over utilities. Our farmers and small business owners are imperative to maintain a strong economy, as they are the economic instruments of America. I pledge to develop and carry out plans to support our farmers and rural districts with policies to protect our TN farmland and promote agricultural sustainability. 

Small Business Owners have long been considered the backbone of our economy. They play crucial roles in employment and are the driving force behind economic growth and stability. Within the 20 industries of our District 6 in TN, in 2022-2023, employment grew at a rate of 1.33%. I will stand with President Trump to work and create continued cuts in taxes at all levels of the government for small business owners to innovate, invest in their company, and be able to hire and train more teammates. 

IMMIGRATION

Secure the Border. Defend our Nation. With a veteran’s mindset, I will work to finish and support the efforts of completing the wall, stop illegal immigration, deport criminals, and cut off the incentives drawing people here illegally. I will push back on any legislation that does not protect and respect the sovereignty of the citizens of the sixth district. 

Illegal immigration threatens the safety of Americans and has contributed to the dangers of human smuggling and child sex trafficking. We have witnessed how illegal immigration has created an economic nightmare for our nation as well. Our interstate of travel, I-40, runs right through our district.  Thus, it is my responsibility as your congressman to ensure the law is followed, and any dangers coming through our district are addressed swiftly and judiciously. 

EDUCATION 

I support President Trump in his decision to close the Department of Education at the federal level. Our local and state governments should manage our education departments. I also support the continued school choice options: public, charter, private, or home-schooled. Every school-age child should have the same rights and opportunities, and parents should be allowed to continue making choices for their families.  

I support the removal of proven, unnecessary testing and allow our teachers to get back to the basics of teaching. We are blessed in the sixth district to have effective and honorable teachers, and they deserve the best tools to be as effective as possible. I support prayer being allowed in our schools again and beginning the school day with the Pledge of Allegiance to our nation. 

I will focus on additional development for bills, to assist the CTE Programs for ancillary funding and opportunities in our schools within the sixth district. 

I will work with TN leaders and educators to secure the necessary funding for teacher and staffing shortages in our TN schools. It is imperative for our rural school districts to have the needed staff, such as social workers and certified staff in special education. 

It is long overdue for our teachers in TN to receive an income that doesn’t require them to work a second and third job and pay for their classroom supplies. I look forward to working on these matters to help rectify these shortfalls. 

DEFENDING LIFE

I am 100% unapologetically pro-life. Life begins with conception.  It is our moral responsibility to protect the most vulnerable, the most innocent children.  Two years ago, there was a bill, H.R.4368, that attempted to allow the mailing of a pill, mifepristone, to induce chemical abortions.  There will never be a place for this option under God’s law, and I would have adamantly opposed this vote. 

2A 

Our Founding Fathers framed this amendment amid concerns of a powerful takeover and eliminating individual liberties and state sovereignty.  It was felt that this amendment would be instrumental in preventing government tyranny. It reads, “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”  It is very self-explanatory.  

I am dedicated to protecting and preserving our Second Amendment.  I will champion legislation that protects the rights of law-abiding citizens to keep and the right to bear arms. 

SUPPORTING THE BLUE 

Our law enforcement officers are some of the bravest, and selfless members serving us in our communities.  They have chosen a profession to serve in a manner that they often risk their lives by protecting and providing safety for others.  

It is vital that we show appreciation for their bravery and dedication.  I will never support the leftist actions of Defunding Our Police.  Most recently, our law officers have been under attack via the hands of illegal aliens. Common sense legislation, H.R.7343 -Detain and Deport Illegal Aliens who Assault Cops Act was necessary and passed in our house, last year.  I pledge to support and cast my vote in the YES category for bills supporting our Local Law Enforcement.
