Henry: Expand the national security concerns to include these foreign influences
Riddleton, TN – TN District 6 Congressional Candidate, Sgt. Maj. Jon Henry (ret) applauds the continued focus of the Trump Administration upon the very real National Security issues related to America’s Agriculture. Tennessee was honored with a visit from USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins, as well as Deputy Secretary Stephen Vaden at the TN State Fair in Wilson County, TN. The event afforded Farmers the opportunity to voice their concerns, to the Secretary with excellent representation from producers within the 6th Congressional District, many of whom are friends and contributors to the platform our campaign stands upon.
The exciting news of decoupling from foreign ownership of our farmland, and control of its uses, must also address foreign manipulation of markets that allow American Farmers to remain upon the land. Not only are Farmers concerned about extreme market consolidations; they are also concerned those few entities affecting their business are either foreign owned or heavily influenced by foreign investment. While vertical integration may champion “efficiency” in the marketplace, that efficiency is heavily advantaged toward the processor corporations, and leaves little consideration to the economic factors that transfer to the producers/growers. These forces are disadvantaging farmers at the basest level of profitability, challenging the safety of farm products to consumers, and placing our National Security at risk all along the chain of supply.
It was the innovation of American Farmers that made our Agriculture great with confident access, to a free market system of price discovery that drove the advances made. Ongoing litigation, in re Cattle Antitrust Litigation 19-cv-01222, revealed that ONLY 25% of fed-cattle move through an open pricing system, with the balance of pricing held within the hands of only four corporations (JBS, National, Tyson, & Cargill). Swine and poultry open market access and price discovery being even less than currently experienced by beef farmers, and predominantly controlled by the same corporations. JBS & National (Marfrig.) are Brazilian firms having immense global footprints, along with Tyson, being subject to large foreign investments, and Cargill remaining the only family owned American business in the cabal capturing over 85% of the meat sector of our economy.
I call on Secretary Rollins to expand the national security concerns to include these foreign influences into our market structure, as well as the internal concentrations of market power that impact American Agriculture. I stand ready to serve alongside current, and long overdue examinations of our food system, to increase the viability of our Agriculture sector and to provide a secure product to consumers.

Jon Henry continues to seek answers for the TN Farmers & Citizens
Riddleton, TN - The National Farm Security Action Plan rolled out by the Trump Administration addresses several areas of concern regarding America’s Food systems.1 Domestic supply and control of an abundant, safe, and accessible food supply is the keystone of a nation. Foreign ownership of farmland was specifically addressed as a chief concern by the Trump Administration. Alongside foreign ownership of our farmland is foreign ownership of the corporations controlling our meat processing sector with ramifications from farm to fork.
At present, 4 large multi-national corporations’ control over 80% of finished beef product with 2 of those (JBS and Marfrig/National) being Brazilian firms and Tyson who has significant investment by the Chinese Communist Government. A recent article and video released by Epoch Times,2 addresses these connections as well as consequences to both consumer and local cattle farmers. Brooke Miller, past President of the United States Cattlemen’s Association, stated in an Epoch Times interview, “They have such a monopoly, there is really no free market in the live fat cattle marketplace”. The interview additionally implied future destruction of free market price mechanisms further down the chain of production. This price mechanism destruction would impair the feeder calf open market that sectors of our Tennessee livestock system depend on. In addition, this economic impact would severely affect numerous ancillary businesses that support our livestock industry, such as feed suppliers, animal health products, capital equipment, and crop input suppliers.
On June 24, 2025, Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri addressed these concerns in a Congressional hearing on Anti-Trust Oversight.3 In testimonial conversation with Mark Meador of the Federal Trade Commission, it was concluded that these consolidated positions needed further review for monopolistic anti-competitive practices by both the
FTC and Packers and Stockyards division of the DOJ. Senator Hawley was immediately attacked by a Wall Street Journal4 article by Mark Mix titled, “Josh Hawley Doesn’t’ Know What a Monopoly Is”, specifically alleging these corporations were not a monopoly due to the absence of “collusion” in manipulating prices to both consumers and producers. However, numerous lawsuits have been levied against these corporations specifying collusion to manipulate both price and supply at both ends of the chain. These lawsuits have been settled out of court and public view with substantial penalties paid to affected parties.5
TN Congressional Candidate Henry looked at the modest herd his own family raises and said, “Our cattle are the last remaining element of our Appalachian farming heritage and Independence. We will not give them up without a Fight!”. An article from the Wall Street Journal defending monopolistic activities should be expected from a media machine that engineered Wall Street’s bailout in 2008 while main street was foreclosed and made homeless.
Stay tuned Tennessee, more to come.

Tennessee Congressional Candidate and Generational Farmer Pledges to Fight Landgrabs and Defend Family Farms
[Riddleton, TN] — Sixth District Congressional candidate, 27 - year Marine Veteran raised on a rural farm in Tennessee carrying those family values with him in service to our nation, and now for service as your Congressman, Jon Henry announced a bold campaign promise today. His promise is aimed at protecting Tennessee farmland, rolling back harmful regulations on farmers, and preserving access to natural food. As a multi-generational farmer with deep roots in rural Tennessee, Henry is positioning this campaign as a direct challenge to the unchecked influence of land developers and special foreign interests that have eroded the state’s agricultural foundation.
“I’ve lived this struggle firsthand, and therefore know the struggles our farmers are facing,” Henry said. “Our land is being bought up by developers and foreign interest, thus we must protect our land with leaders who care deeply about our communities, our crops, or our culture. Family farmers are being burdened with unncessary red tape while corporate interests pave over the fields we’ve farmed for generations. I am committed and dedicated to overcoming, and putting an end to this struggle when I get to Congress.”
Henry is pledging to prioritize legislation that protects Tennessee’s farmland from corporate overreach, lifts burdensome federal regulations that disproportionately impact small and mid-sized farmers, and restores the balance of power back to rural communities.
The campaign’s centerpiece is a statewide educational awareness platform designed to inform Tennesseans about the growing crisis:
The rapid loss of farmland to developers
The regulatory stranglehold on family farms
The importance of preserving access to local, natural food
Increasing concentration and takeover of agricultural corporations that press farmers by the price of their inputs and depress the prices farmers receive
Drawing on the words of Robert F. Kennedy, who once said, “We must support the farmer. We must have natural food for our families to eat,” Henry emphasized that this is not just an agricultural issue — it’s a food security issue and a public health issue.
“If we lose our farms, we lose the ability to feed ourselves,” Henry said. “This is a crisis, not just for rural Tennesseans, but for everyone who wants clean, local, natural food on their table.”
Key Points of Henry’s Platform:
Protect Tennessee Farmland from predatory landgrabs and overdevelopment
Roll Back Harmful Regulations on small and generational farmers
Support Local, Sustainable Agriculture and ensure access to natural food
Launch a Public Awareness Campaign to mobilize citizens in defense of local farms and combat market concentrations that disempower them
With firsthand experience in farming, Henry says they will bring a grounded, no-nonsense perspective to Washington. "Join me in this fight to protect our farms and and our future," remarked Henry.
“We don’t need more politicians who’ve never stepped foot on a farm. We need leaders who understand the land, who’ve worked it, and who will fight for the people who feed this country.”
The campaign invites Tennesseans of all backgrounds — rural and urban alike — to join this movement to preserve Tennessee’s farming legacy and secure a future built on local food, clean land, and strong communities.

Send in the Marine: Jon Henry Announces Run For Congress
RIDDLETON, TN – Retired Marine Corps Sergeant Major Jon Henry, a decorated combat veteran and Christian conservative, is officially launching his Republican campaign for Congress in Tennessee’s 6th District.
With over 27 years of service in the United States Marine Corps, including deployments to Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, Sgt. Maj. Henry is bringing his battlefield-tested leadership, discipline, and grit to a new kind of fight: taking on the political elites and woke radicals trying to tear America apart from within.
“I’ve led Marines into battle. I’ve defended American lives on foreign soil. Now, I’m ready to defend the soul of our country in Congress,” said Henry. “Washington is full of cowards and career politicians who have forgotten the people they serve. I’m not one of them. I’m a Marine, a conservative, a Christian, and a Tennessean who’s had enough.”
Raised in the small farming community of Riddleton, Henry built his life on faith, family, and service. From training recruits at Parris Island to leading Marines in Al Anbar Province, to earning a Bronze Star and multiple commendations, his record is one of proven leadership and unwavering courage.
“I spent decades protecting our great nation from threats abroad only to find woke radicals are trying to destroy it from within,” Henry said. “And too many weak-kneed Republicans would rather protect their cushy jobs than protect our values.”
Henry is running on an unapologetically America First platform and pledges to stand shoulder to shoulder with President Trump in the battles ahead.
“President Trump needs reinforcements, not more backbenchers, and I’m ready to stand beside him and take the hill. I’ll fight to secure the border, end the weaponization of government, defend our God-given rights, and protect life, liberty, and the American family.”
A proud husband, father, and grandfather, with unmatched battlefield experience and grassroots conviction, Sgt. Maj. Jon Henry is ready to lead the fight in Washington for the forgotten men and women of Tennessee, and he won’t back down.
“Tennessee deserves a warrior, not a bureaucrat. I’ve led Marines in combat, and I’ll bring that same courage, conviction, and common sense to Congress.”
